You will be driven to Corinthia, a region of astounding nature, ancient history, and world-famous wines, and continue your journey toward Argolis, home to important archaeological sites in Greece and associated with some legendary figures of Ancient Greece.

Corinth Canal

Your first short but important stop will be the Corinth Canal, which was constructed to connect the Corinthian to the Saronic Gulf. The idea for the canal was conceived 25 centuries ago, but it was only completed in 1893. It is one of the most significant modern projects in Greece and has been playing a crucial role in Mediterranean trade ever since.

Ancient Mycenae

Next, you will visit the ancient ruins of Mycenae, a UNESCO World Heritage site, which was once the Kingdom of Atreus and Agamemnon and served as a palatial center during the late Bronze Age in Greece. Here, you will explore the Lion's Gate, the Treasury of Atreus, and the tomb of Agamemnon as well as six Royal Tombs, 14 basilicas, and 12 private vaulted tombs at the Acropolis, and also visit the museum.

Nafplio

Your next destination will be Nafplio, which was the first capital of modern Greece after the 1821 revolution. Here, you will visit the medieval castle of Palamidi, stroll through the old city of Nafplio, and enjoy traditional Greek lunch with a view of the Bourtzi islet in the middle of the port.

Ancient Theater of Epidaurus

You will then head to the Ancient Theater of Epidaurus, another UNESCO World Heritage site. Epidaurus was the center of the Greek medical world and birthplace of Asclepius, the patron God of medicine. It is famous for its theater, which is considered to be the most perfect ancient Greek theater with regard to acoustics and aesthetics. Due to its exceptional architecture and optimal acoustics, the Epidaurus theatre still hosts a festival of ancient tragedy and comedy during the summer months.
